Anchor remediation project ensuring structural compliance near a heritage site through advanced pole and guying system analysis.
Project Details
This project involved structural stabilization at a utility pole near a heritage structure located at 83 Avenue and 105 Street. The engineering scope included advanced pole stress modeling using SPIDA®calc under CSA 2015 standards. The existing configuration was upgraded with 10" twin helix PISA anchors and new 7/16" Grade 180 guy wires. Load scenarios such as extreme wind, cold, and ice were modeled to ensure pole stress, deflection, and buckling remained within safe limits under all critical conditions.
Outcomes
Reinforced structural anchor system with PISA 10` twin helix anchors
Reduced pole loading stress by over 15% under CSA high wind loading
Eliminated clearance and buckling risks through anchor reconfiguration
Improved load distribution with upgraded 7/16` Grade 180 guy wires
Achieved 100% compliance with CSA 2015 Medium A advanced analysis
